Harewood Holistics at the Harewood House estate is the venue for runners and cyclists to take the opportunity to focus on their mobility, recovery and release.
Yorkshire-based yoga and wellness expert Emma Dawrant, founder of Emma’s Yoga Tribe, is hosting the one-day retreat to help those who want to maintain optimum health and wellbeing through the winter.
Emma: “I’m really excited to host this unique retreat, it will enable runners, cyclists or any athletes to stay focused during the winter months and translate simple steps from the yoga practice and incorporate them into our daily habits. The day is aimed at anyone who likes to move and learn more to stay healthy and happy.
It is really important to invest in your mobility, to enhance not just performance but aid the best recovery and rest your body craves after training. This is especially true during the winter months when the muscles may need extra support and maintenance for injury prevention, as your joints really take a beating when compression is taking place consistently when pounding the pavements.”
The choice of venue is the Harewood Holistics’ Arch Barn Studio, a beautiful, custom-built yoga studio in an ideal setting. The retreat will take place from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on 28th January 2023.
The day will cover ways to help boost strength, mobility and investing in what Emma calls ‘super power’ techniques, using myofascial release to relieve pain and bring more hydration and comfort into your deep connective tissues. There will be an optional guided run around the estate, taking in the views of the deer park and grounds. There will also be a HIIT session to activate glutes and core whilst maintaining integrity for the joints.
Participants will learn about simple and effective tools to implement at home as part of their daily practice, alongside some mindfulness and breathing techniques to really ground anyone when struggling with mental challenges.
A nutritious vegetarian lunch will be provided by The Ilkley Kitchen.
