Futuresound Events present Embrace – with very special guests Ocean Colour Scene, Ash, Sleeper and Cud. Embrace’s return to Yorkshire celebrates 20 years of classic No.1 album ‘Out of Nothing’ alongside greatest hits.
The Indie-rockers will be returning to the home soils of West Yorkshire, performing in the historic surrounds of Cistercian ruins at Kirkstall Abbey, Leeds next summer.
Released in 2004, 2x platinum-selling ‘Out of Nothing’ landed Embrace with a number 1 album and outstanding critical success. Packed with hit singles including ‘Gravity’ which was written with Coldplay’s Chris Martin, and ‘Ashes’ which has since become an anthemic crowd favourite year after year, ‘Out of Nothing’ has firmly cemented itself as an indie-rock classic.
Alongside the 20th anniversary celebrations whilst playing the entirety of ‘Out of Nothing’, fans can also expect hear other greatest hits such as ‘Come Back to What You Know’, ‘All You Good Good People’ and ‘One Big Family’, all set in the historic grounds of Kirkstall Abbey.
Lead singer Danny McNamara:
“The chance to play our biggest album from start to finish for the first time ever, in such a spectacular setting, was too great an opportunity to pass up. The album will always hold a really special place in our hearts. NME called it ‘the best comeback since Lazarus!’ and it’s true it did bring us back from the brink in many ways. It’s got some of our biggest hits on it, and some of the band’s favourite live songs too. To be honest, the twenty years has flown by, it seems like only yesterday that Out Of Nothing catapulted the band back to the top of the charts!”
Also joining Embrace on this jam-packed bill are Brit-Pop favourites Ocean Colour Scene, ‘Girl From Mars’ rockers Ash, recently resurgent 90’s hit makers Sleeper and local Leeds outfit Cud.
