Exploding Flowers: at The Lending Room on 12 August (with The Gentle Spring, Static Caravan and The Seven Inches)

Los Angeles guitar-pop outfit Exploding Flowers are out on tour in the UK this summer, ahead of the release of their upcoming fourth album.

Kicking things off at the iconic Prince Albert in Brighton, Exploding Flowers will play a run of dates across the country this August. The tour includes stops at some of the UK’s most beloved venues, including fruit and veg warehouse turned venue JT Soar in Nottingham, the historic Lending Room in Leeds, The Cluny 2 in Newcastle and DIY mainstay Delicious Clam in Sheffield. The band will round the dates off with a special performance at Glas-Goes Pop alongside the likes of The Clientele, The Bats and Feel (members of Felt).

Exploding Flowers will be joined by a range of former collaborators and some newer names over the course of the tour. They’ll share the stage with Rachel Love (Dolly Mixture, Railcard) and Jowe Head (Swell Maps, Television Personalities), both familiar to the band since featuring on their 2025 release, Watermelon/Peacock, as well as Leeds local favourites Static Caravan and evil Sheffield power-pop outfit The Xoxos. Full listings and support details can be found below.

The tour will follow the release of new single “Spinning Carousel”, which is set for release on 7th August. Exploding Flowers are also set to release their fourth full-length offering later this year via Meritorio Records, with mastering by Mark Gardener (Ride).

About Exploding Flowers

Exploding Flowers are a Los Angeles, California quartet who have crafted their own universe of guitar-based pop, with flourishes of piano, organ, synthesisers and vibraphone, on top of a foundational rhythm section.

Led by Sharif Dumani, who has worked with a variety of artists including Alice Bag, Cody Chesnutt and Sex Stains, the quartet is comprised of members Josh Mancell (The Moon Upstairs, CellBorg), Happy Tsugawa-Banta (Lassie Foundation, Ray Barbee) and Mark Sogomian (The Moon Upstairs). With three albums, an EP and an upcoming fourth album on Meritorio Records, they have been compared to Big Star, the Soft Boys, L.A.’s Paisley Underground and New Zealand’s 1980s-era Flying Nun Records guitar pop groups. Exploding Flowers explore some similar territory but expand to occupy their own space in that landscape.

The band is touring the UK in August 2026 including performing at Glas-Goes Pop, as well as dates with Rachel Love (Dolly Mixture, Railcard) and Jowe Head (Swell Maps, Television Personalities). All dates listed below.
