Horsforth residents have been looking forward to the opening of Pranzo since the news landed that Chef-owner Marco Greco had chosen the town as the location for his third Italian restaurant.
The wait is nearly over. On Thursday 9th May at 12 noon, Pranzo Italian will open its doors on Town Street.
The Horsforth restaurant joins Marco’s established restaurants in Ilkley and Harrogate that opened in 2018 and 2020 respectively.
It has taken three months and a £350k investment to turn the former bank building into an authentic Italian dining space. The interior does not disappoint, being contemporary in design yet cosy and welcoming to diners.
Marco is delighted to be opening in Horsforth: “I’ve wanted to open a restaurant in Horsforth for a while. It is a fantastic town. Everyone has been so friendly while we’ve been completing the renovation work”.
When the doors open on Thursday 9th May, Pranzo will employ around 35 people from the local area at their new Horsforth restaurant. Employees range from experienced individuals to newcomers to the hospitality industry. All new team members are given extensive training. Central to this training is to involve all new team members in the
Pranzo story and Marco’s family history.
Marco: “I started cooking in my childhood with my Nonna (grandmother) at our family home in the Calabria region of Italy. Hopefully, Nonna would be proud of how many people are enjoying her recipes now.”
The main menu features Marco’s favourite elements of Nonna’s traditional recipes. Everything is made in-house and Pranzo’s pasta is made fresh daily as are the breads, sauces and desserts.
If daytime dining is more your thing, Pranzo’s great value lunch menu offers two courses for £18.95 or three for £23.95.
Both menus are complimented by a varied specials menu and carefully selected wines and cocktails.
