NEW SINGLE:“ROLL THE DICE”WATCH/LISTEN HERE  New Album –  Headful of Sugar – out May 6 on Lucky Number

New York trio Sunflower Bean—vocalist and bassist Julia Cumming, guitarist and vocalist Nick Kivlen, and drummer Olive Faber – previewed Headful of Sugar with “Baby Don’t Cry” and lead single “Who Put You Up to This?”  Their next single, “Roll The Dice”,  premiered by BBC Radio 1’s Clara Amfo as the ‘Hottest Record In The World’. An indictment of the so-called American Dream, “Roll The Dice” was written about how many young adults now need side-hustles to secure their futures.
The band:  “Almost everyone we know struggles with money. The traditional routes towards success and stability in America have severely narrowed. The only way to get ahead is to take big risks and roll the dice.”

Julia Cumming:  “Tomorrow is not promised, no tour is promised, no popularity is promised, no health or money is promised. Why not make what you want to make on your own terms? Why not make a record that makes you want to dance? Why not make a record that makes you want to scream?”

Sunflower Bean are known for their singular live performances at major festivals like Glastonbury, Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Reading & Leeds, and tour with the likes of Beck, Cage the Elephant, Interpol, Courtney Barnett, The Pixies, The Kills, DIIV, Courtney Barnett, and Wolf Alice. Now, the band is gearing up to get back on the road for a massive Spring tour in support of Headful of Sugar.  Tickets HERE.

Alabama – 17 April at The Warehouse

South London’s Alabama 3’s THE DIVINE INTERVENTION TOUR’ is all set. Rob Spragg and Jake Black founded the band in the 90s, when Rob started singing the lyrics to a Hank Williams song over an acid-house beat and Jake re-joined with some bebop skat stylings. Then followed the world famous ‘Woke Up This Morning’, an inaugural smash as the theme music for ‘The Sopranos’ After the death of legendary songwriter Jake Black, aka The Very Reverend D, and the new normal we all face, the band bounced back with their latest album ‘Step 13, released September 2021.

Refusing to wallow in self-pity, this latest album from the band is the pick me up we all need; a reminder to leave bad news in the past, throw caution to the wind, and live life to the fullest. Luckily for those of us who need a reminder, the band will bring their new tracks, as well as old favourites across country, and they embark on a UK tour for Spring 2022.

That’s how you get an exciting gig. That’s a feeling that’s addictive for a musician. It makes you want to keep going out and giving it your everything and playing hard and rocking out.

This spring sees Reef back where they belong performing at some of the biggest and best venues in the UK, as they embark on a string of live dates. Alongside this, the band have also been busy writing and recording a brand-new album which is set to dazzle. TICKETS HERE

Showhawk – 23 April at The Warehouse

Acoustic pioneers THE SHOWHAWK DUO have announced their upcoming ‘Acoustic Rave for The Jilted Generation’ UK tour.

Young British guitarists Mikhail Asanovic and Jake Wright, together known as The Showhawk Duo, have dazzled audiences worldwide with their spectacular approach to playing the guitar. With a style that has broken down barriers between acoustic and electronic music, the group are spearheads of the UK music scene, and have been tipped as visionaries for their unique playing skills, whether old-school trance classics or modern funky house.

Mik is a classical guitarist at heart, having studied at Manchester’s RNCM, whereas Jake is an electric junkie playing in rock and metal bands while growing up. Mik’s classical foundation shines through in the music with Jake’s raw percussive approach always keeping the crowd moving. Their combination has caught the attention of Nick Grimshaw, LAD Bible and BBC Radio Bristol. The group have been featured everywhere from BBC Radio 1 to the main stage at Glastonbury, and regularly play sold-out venues, including a career defining show at London’s O2 Forum on their previous tour where they received rave reviews.
